from an existing premises on George's Quay, within
the old town port and a fifteen minute walk from
the town centre. At the Spirit Store television

Spirit Store has the full support of the Tourist
Board and Arts Office. When purchased in 1999
the Spirit Store was in total disarray. The renovation
of the pub was to be an enormous undertaking.
The premises dates from the last century and is
a beautiful old stone building. This was originally
the port merchant's house. The building, which
had fallen into considerable disrepair, was restored
using original materials including, limestone
render, salvaged old wooden flooring, organic
paints etc. The Spirit Store, currently owned
by the two Marks (Dearey and Mulholland), was
reopened in its present format in October 1999
following extensive renovation.
The
Spirit Store strives to be a haven for relaxation,
conversation, great beer and quality live entertainment.
The permanent live venue on the first floor promotes
a wide range of events including drama, poetry
readings, comedy nights, functions and gigs with
some of the best talent in Ireland and further
afield performing. There are traditional sessions
in the bar every Sunday night.
The
bar stacks a broad range of drinks including a
selection of some of the best specially imported
beers from around the world, quality draught beers
and a wide selection of spirits.
