Translating as Holy Failure, this Dublin-based experimental
metal band has emerged out of classical, jazz, even
plainchant music, with an enamel of distorted twin guitars,
blinding drums, threatening bass and searing vocals.
Beginning life in Ireland in 2013, to further his education
in classical guitar studies, Svet Kant founder and front
man Santiago Kodela, sought like-minded musicians to
take the music to the people. After much shuffling of
the line-up, they were finally ready to hit their first
gig at The Lock-Up festival in Bellurgan Dundalk 2015.
Liam Molloy on guitar and Noface on bass, filled out
the string section and Daragh Kenny backing it all up
on the drums.
Since their first gig, Svet Kant have been playing more
and more shows, sometimes even impromptu! Every gig
sees their confidence and unity grow, as the music is
experimental the band have been delighted at the responses
from audiences everywhere they've played. With media
all over the internet, apart from www.svetkant.com,
their presence on sites like YouTube, Facebook, Reverbnation,
Bandcamp and and Spotify to name a few, shows an emerging
interest in the bands direction.
Keeping a tight schedule, Svet Kant are working on new
material all the time. A hard working band you have
not heard the like of before. If you like your ears
being tweaked, you'll enjoy this.
