Norma Manly is a singer songwriter from Co Tipperary,
Ireland. Growing up in rural Tipperary on Tountinna
a mountain steeped in legend of the great biblical flood.
Long summer evenings & dark winter nights were washed
over with the sounds of jazz, blues and soul. Here,
influenced by the sounds and musicians she heard nights
working in the Washerwoman Bar. Norma began her journey
Norma’s sound is intense, melodic and timeless evoking
jazz singers of old infused with blues and soul while
constantly attempting to add innovative artistic flourishes
that set it apart bringing the past, the nowand thefuture.
With a baptism of fire to gigging and production Norma's
first EP Blue captures a refinement and progression
of her sound without losing any of the passion that
Norma’ brings to her live shows. Recorded in Ballybane
studio, Birdhill in summer 2018, Blue, Norma’s first
single and title track, see’s Norma lay down a 21st
century Patsy Cline her voice cocooned in dreamy layers
