David O'Dowda And Matt Benson
DAVID O’DOWDA - BIO
Irish composer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist David O’Dowda has built a reputation for creating music that feels both cinematic and deeply intimate.
Based in Manchester UK, he first came to wider attention when his track The World Retreats was used in the hit Netflix series Dark. Since then, his distinctive blend of layered vocals and atmospheric sound has led to collaborations with Grammy Award-winning duo CamelPhat and collaborating with artists and composers across a variety of genres.
As well as growing a catalogue of songs on the Velvet Ears label on Extreme Music, he has also composed original music for television ad campaigns with IKEA, Boots and Stella Artois, the Channel 5 documentary The One That Got Away, and the 2017 dystopian feature film Division 19 starring Clarke Peters (The Wire).
MATT BENSON - BIO
Matt Benson has had an illustrious career playing trombone as a sideman since his first professional gig in 2010. He’s been in George Ezra’s band since 2017, and played with Bad Manners, The
Pogues, Neil Hannon, Hot 8 Brass Band and lots more...
As a session musician he’s played The Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, WOMAD, TheTonight Show, Jools Holland’s Hootenanny,
The Royal Albert Hall, and The Brit Awards. Now Matt has moved from the side of the stage to front and centre with his debut album, showcasing his vocals and tremendous songwriting ability. With a “Vocal feel of Chris Stapleton and Nathaniel Rateliff” [Americana UK], it’s clear that Benson has a lyrical gift and ‘Sit Back Down Again’ heralds the start of what is sure to be a successful career.
