Jinx Lennon
Jinx Lennon sings songs about the times we live in Ireland, social issues and the struggle to retain sanity and integrity in the 21st century .The show aims to be uplifting experience for the audience because it’s honest, sometimes scary, funny and personal. Jinx switches from sample beats to acoustic guitar, bass and bass drum during the set and has a tape machine dialogue going on between songs that acts as a barrier to "ego inflation" onstage called THE CONTRARIAN ELECT.
The new album "Walk Lightly When the Jug is Full" is a full on assault course through the world of open tuned guitar with punk folk attitude especially with the lyrics which deal with teenage pregnancies, the incel community, police brutality, noisy terraced house living and features instrumentals for the first time. Jinx has been writing and recording music since 1980. The former music bands include Novena Babes, Silver Seeds, Zen Emeralds, Sneaky Pete And The Ostrich and has performed throughout Ireland and U.K. Europe and America. He has 13 acclaimed album releases and has supported The Fall and toured with John Cooper Clarke .
His life as an artist was documented by RTE 1 as part of the Arts/Lives series in 2007. An RTE radio theatre production based Jinx music "Know Your Station" by playwright Mikel Murfi appeared on the same station in 2008. In 2012 Maccana Teoranta made a radio documentary “Respect Yourself” about his work which featured Christy Moore and Last year, 2022, he was featured as part of the TG4 documentary series Cumasc:Seisiuin Sa Black Gate. Also in 2022 Jinx appeared on the Tommie Tiernan show and performed the song “Pushing the Patients Round” from “Liferafts for Latchicos” on The Tommie Tiernan tv show on RTE 1 and also performed the piece ‘United Island’ on RTE Radio One “The County Measure” series. Playwright/actor Liz Fitzgibbon featured Jinx Lennon songs in her play “Kicking All The boxes” which appeared in the Dublin Fringe Festival 2018 and Vault Festival London 2019.

"A turning point for an often overlooked singer" - Review of 'Liferafts For Latchicos' Irish Times
"Lennon's wry humour means there's enough levity to avoid pontification.A record as raw and real as it's creator" - SUNDAY TIMES CULTURE MAGAZINE(review of 'border schizo fffolk songs for the fuc**d')
"Except in the crucial sense that he understands class Lennon is not a protest singer. The rich horn in for a few lines, but mostly Lennon means to warn the local good guys about the bad guys waiting to fuck them up" - Bob Christgau -Rolling Stone / Village Voice
"Jinx Lennon is an unstoppable force of nature. With PET RENT, he has proven once again that, just when we think we know all the answers, it is time to change the questions" - Edwin Mc Fee, Hot Press review of "Pet Rent"
